Putting Network Switch In Attic

What i m wanting to do is keep a poe switch in the attic.

The plan is to run a single cat5 cable from the study on the ground floor outside the house using metal trunking to the attic where i will install a network switch netgear gs116 maybe. I would need to run an extension cord around a corner from that outlet in the attic to put it where i want to put it. It can get about 110 in the summer or more i would imagine the attic is likely the same. I am putting up some ip cameras and have limited network runs to the attic so i will likely need to put a switch up there.
